Body Found Hanging From Rafter Beam – W.J. Grant, Drummond Street, Took His Own Life Today – Inquest Unlikely.

William J. Grant, 8 Drummond Street, committed suicide today at his home about 11.30 a.m.  The man was discovered by his wife hanging from a rafter in the attic; Dr. R.W. Digby being called, the body being cut down by neighbors.

P.C. Lindop and Det. Clerk Ward attended and took the particulars from the wife of the man.  It seems he had been very despondent recently and had been attended to by Dr. R.W. Digby.

The pair went up town this morning, the man returning first, the wife coming home about ten minutes later.

On unlocking the door, the woman looked upstairs and saw her husband suspended from the rafter.
