Killed in Action

To Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Maloney, St. George Street, word was sent on Saturday that their son had joined the great army of those who have paid the great price on the battlefield. Private Thomas Maloney, the message ran, had been missing since the last of August, and was reported killed. The last letter had come to his mother written Aug. 28, from the trenches, so his sad misfortune must have come to him after that. Private Maloney left Brantford a few years ago and went to France with an American unit. His brother, Edward, recently went overseas. He was a member of St. Basil’s Church and a general favorite with his chums and friends. Sincere sympathy goes out to the parents of the young soldier in their great sorrow.
