Notified of Issue of Military Medal

Some wag among the war veterans recently made the remark that his grandchildren would probably have bestowed on them the medals he won in the Great War of 1914-1918.  Others have predicted that the last medal will be issued in 1950.  Lieut. Jack McNaughton, Cayuga Street, apparently is having more luck.  At Ronssoy, August, 1918 his platoon commander, (for Mr. McNaughton was then a doughty private in the ranks), was knocked out, also the sergeant, and he took hold of the platoon, wormed his way up to a Hun nest, and with a Lewis gun, dispersed the enemy and consolidated the gains for the day.  He has just been notified of the issue of the Military Medal to him for his work.
