John William Emby

John William Emby passed away Friday evening at the home of his stepdaughter, Mrs. E. Kite, 280 Grand River Avenue, in his seventy-sixth year.  A resident of this City for more than thirty years, he was an employee of the Slingsby Manufacturing Co., Ltd.  He was a member of the 215th Battalion and the 21st Imperial Hussars as well as of St. Paul’s Anglican Church.  Surviving is one son, John William Emby, Jr.; one stepson, Alfred Wolstencroft, two stepdaughters, Mrs. E. Kite and Mrs. S. Taylor, Brantford and four grandchildren, Victor, B.C. and Alma, Marguerite and Eddie, Brantford.  Mr. Emby is resting at Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home, where service will take place Sunday afternoon.  Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

The funeral of John William Emby was conducted from Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home Sunday afternoon.  Rev. B.A. Silcox of St. James’ Anglican Church was in charge of the service, and the pallbearers were E. Emby, N. Green, W. Calem, W. Dawson, M. King and H. Day.  Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
