Returned to France

Word has been received by Mrs. H. Newrick, 15 House Avenue, Terrace Hill, that her husband, Corporal Herbert Newrick, late of the waterworks staff, who went overseas with the 125th, has now recovered from his wounds and has returned to his unit somewhere in France.

Herbert Newrick

The death of Herbert Newrick, husband of Elizabeth Adkins Newrick, 90 Walnut Street, occurred this morning at Westminster Hospital, London, Ont.  Born in Essex, England, he came to Brantford 55 years ago.  He was first employed with the Waterworks Department.  At the outbreak of the First World War he enlisted with the 125th Battalion and served with it for the duration of the war.  After the war, he was employed for many years with the Bank of Nova Scotia.  Mr. Newrick is survived by his widow.  He is survived by his widow.  He is resting at the Beckett Funeral Home, where service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in the Soldiers’ Plot, Mount Hope Cemetery.
