Ernest W. Lavery

Ernest W. Lavery of 42 Westmount Boulevard, died today in the Brantford General Hospital.  A well-known citizen, Mr. Lavery was born in Brantford 67 years ago and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Lavery.  He was a lifelong resident of this city and was active in Free Masonry.  He was a past master and life member of Ozias Lodge A.F. and A.M. and he served as its secretary for many years.  Mr. Lavery served as secretary-treasurer of the Brantford Masonic Temple and was a 32nd degree Mason.  He was a member of Alexandra Presbyterian Church and was employed with Johnson Brothers Construction Co. for 32 years, retiring as secretary-treasurer in 1956.  Surviving besides his wife, the former Myrtle I. Hewson, is a brother, Jack Lavery, of Brantford.  Mr. Lavery is at the Beckett Funeral Home for funeral service Monday at 2 p.m. with interment in Mount Hope Cemetery.  Rev. Dr. G. Deane Johnson of Central Presbyterian Church will officiate.
