Arthur McCreary

Arthur McCreary, 89, formerly of 17 Robertson Avenue, died Sunday at the John Noble Home.  Mr. McCreary was born in England and came to Canada in 1905.  He lived in Clinton prior to taking up residence in Brantford 50 years ago.  He was employed at the Verity Works of Massey-Ferguson Limited for over 25 years, retiring in 1945.  Mr. McCreary was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a member of the Loyal Orange Lodge and of the Royal Black Preceptory.  He was a veteran of the First World War and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 90. Surviving besides his wife, the former Jean Jessie Everington, is one son Samuel of Brantford; a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Jessie) Wood, of San Bernardino, Calif., five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  A son, James, died in 1957.  Mr. McCreary is at the Beckett funeral Home for service Thursday at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in Farringdon Burial Grounds.
