Alexander Greig Sr.

Alexander (Alex) Grieg Sr., 89, died Tuesday in Brucefield Manor Nursing Home, Mount Pleasant.  He was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, and had been a resident of Brantford since 1912.  A plumber, Mr. Greig operated his own business and was also with Anguish and Whitfield.  From 1940, he was with Cockshutt Farm Equipment Limited, retiring in 1953.  Mr. Greig served overseas during the First World War with the 125th Battalion and was a member of the 25-year Club of the Royal Canadian Legion and St. Machars Masonic Lodge, Aberdeen, Scotland.  Surviving are two sons, Alex and Douglas both of Brantford; two grandchildren.  His wife, the former Mary Scott, died seven years ago.  Mr. Greig is at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home for service Friday at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
