Two Broken Bones

While participating in a game of football at the camp at Niagara-on-the-lake on Thursday of last week, Private William Kerr Spence of the 215th Battalion suffered a painful accident. He is now confined to a Toronto hospital with two bones broken in one of his legs. Spence during the game, made a dash for the goal and the “goalie,” rushing out to intercept him, made a kick at the ball. Missing the ball, his foot caught Spence’s leg, breaking two bones.

Is a Casualty

Private William Kerr Spence, who has been a valued member of the orderly room staff of the 215th, has been transferred to casualties. This follows an accident in which one of his legs was broken at the Niagara Camp last summer. He will shortly go on a month’s furlough, and it is likely will be discharged from the battalion as physically unfit.
