William McLaren

William McLaren, 67 of 299 Chatham Street, died Saturday in the Brantford General Hospital.  He was born in Dundee Scotland, and for the past 53 years, resided in Brantford.  During the First World War, he served overseas with the 125th Battalion.  Mr. McLaren was a member of the Marlborough Street United Church for the past 51 years and was a former member of the Board of Stewards and an elder for many years.  He was also a member of East War Senior Citizens Club and for 23 years was employed with Universal Cooler, retiring when operations moved to Barrie.  Surviving besides his wife the former Dorothy Mears are a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Ruth) Culver of Brantford, a sister Mrs. L. Merrill (Margaret) Bernhardt of Barrie, and a grandson.  Mr. McLaren is at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home until noon Tuesday then to Marlborough Street Church from 1 p.m. for service at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.  Rev. John McCallum will officiate.
