BX May 3, 1915

Private William James Lahque, whose next of kin is given as being at Plymouth, England, was an enameller, residing at Paris. He had been a resident of Brantford previously, having been for two years a member of the Dufferin Rifles here. When the call came he was among the first to volunteer, was accepted and left Brantford with the first contingent from that regiment.

Private William James Lahque a casualty announced yesterday when he joined the Duffs before the war gave his address as Paris, he at that time residing there. Since that time he had moved to the city, being employed as a salesman by the Ophir Blend Tea Company, and residing at 42 Spring Street, so that he was a resident of Brantford when the Duffs first contingent left and not of Paris.
