Private William Frederick Knight, a member of the first overseas battalion of the Dufferin Rifles, is reported to be in the 30th General Hospital, Calais, having been wounded on May 4. He was a bricklayer here, residing on Shellard’s Lane. He was 31 years of age and unmarried.

Fred Knight

William Fred Knight, 79, of 305 Dalhousie Street, died Wednesday in the Brantford General Hospital.  He was born in Shellards Lane, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Knight and resided here all his life.  Mr. Knight was a bricklayer, retiring in 1948.  He was a member of Park Baptist Church, Gore Lodge I.O.O.F., and the International Union of Bricklayers Masons and Plasterers.  During the First World War he served with the 125th Battalion.  His wife died June 1964.  Mr. Knight is at the Beckett Funeral Home for service Saturday at 2 p.m.  Rev. H.A. Stibbards of Park Baptist Church will officiate.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
