Circumstances of Casualty: Killed in Action

BX May 10, 1917

Word has been received by Mr. C.C. Kent that his grandson, William Cornelius Kent was killed at Vimy ridge on April 9.  He was born at Burford and moved to Outlook, Sask., with his parents, some years ago.  He was a bank clerk, and enlisted with the 128th Battalion and went overseas, but soon after reaching England joined the machine gun section, and was the first of the Outlook contingent to reach the firing line and the first to be sacrificed.
