William F. Jordan

William Frances Jordan, 68 of 209 Rawdon Street died Friday at St. Joseph’s Hospital.  Born in Yorkshire, England, he was a resident of Brantford for the past 52 years.  He was an employee of the Massey-Ferguson Co. for 49 years retiring in 1960.  He was a member of the Quarter-Century Club there.  A veteran of the First World War he was a member of Branch 90 of the Royal Canadian Legion and a former member of Brant Masonic Lodge.  Surviving besides his wife, the former Sarah E. Tate, are seven daughters Mrs. Joseph (Irene) Torti, Mrs. Cecil (Lillian) Bowman, Mrs. Granville (Dorothy) Attridge, Mrs. Adrian (Betty) Dorais, Mrs. Fred (June) Crawford, Mrs. Gordon (Marjorie) Cogger, Mrs. Donald (Marie) McCharles all of Brantford; four sons William of Baden, Reginald of Milwaukee, Wis., Kenneth of St. Catharines, David of Brantford; 39 grandchildren six great-grandchildren; three sisters Mrs. Walter (Margaret) Smith of Brantford, Mrs. Charles (Annie) Linnington of Brantford, Mrs. Florence Lewis of Toronto; three brothers George of Brantford, Arthur of Paris and Harold of Owen Sound.  Mr. Jordan will be at the Beckett Funeral Home from Sunday noon for services Tuesday at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.  Rev. C.V. Tomkins of St. Luke’s Anglican Church will officiate.
