BX October 21, 1944

William Healey

William Healey, Detroit, passed away at his residence on Friday in his forty-sixth year after a short illness.  Deceased was born in England and came to Brantford at the age of two and resided here for a number of years.  He was an employee of Waterous Limited before joining the 12th Battalion during the last war.  Mr. Healey leaves besides his widow, two daughters, Mrs. B. Tyrell and Miss Dorothy Healey, Detroit, his father, Mr. William Healey, Windsor, and also one grandson.  He will arrive in Brantford on Sunday morning and will rest at the Beckett Funeral Home where service will take place on Monday afternoon with interment in Mount Hope Cemetery.

William Healey

The funeral of William Healey was conducted from the Beckett Funeral Home.  Monday afternoon, Rev. F.W. Schaffter, Pastor of St. Jude’s Anglican Church was in charge of that service.  Last Post and Reveille were sounded at the graveside by Bugler Gibson, No. 20 C.I.B.T.C.  There were a very large number of floral tributes from his associates of the 125th Battalion, and from his local friends and also from friends and employers in Detroit.  The pallbearers were William Lambert, George Fox, William Davey, Arthur Daiken, William Cross and Gordon Campbell.  Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
