The funeral of Private William Elliott will take place from his late residence at 2 p.m. this afternoon to Thomas’ cemetery. Private Elliott enlisted with the 114th Battalion, but was later transferred to the 215th. He contracted tuberculosis and shortly before the latter battalion left for overseas, he was given his honorable discharge. He has been ill for about three months. The services will be conducted by the Rev. J.L. Strong. Private Elliott leaves to mourn his loss a wife and one child. He lived about a mile west of the council house.
