William Matthew Elliott

William Matthew Elliott, 72, at Westminster Hospital, London, died today at the hospital.  Born in Brantford, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mathew Elliot.  He was a veteran of the First World War.  He was an employee of the Niagara Silk Company and worked for it here and in Buffalo. He is survived by his wife, Edna, a son William of Buffalo, a daughter Mrs. Mary O’Griffin of Eau Gallie, Florida; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. D. (Edith) Stringer of Dunalk, Maryland, and Mrs. E.W. (Hattie) Avery.  He will be at the Beckett Funeral Home from Wednesday until the funeral service at 2 p.m.  Tuesday, Rev. J.W. Houston of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 90 officiating. Burial in the Soldiers’ Plot, Mount Hope Cemetery.
