William Robert Dimond

William Dimond, 24 Ontario Street, passed away Saturday in the Brantford General Hospital, after a lengthy illness.  Born in England, he came to Brantford 32 years ago.  He was a Salvation Army bandsman for more than 40 years.  His wife predeceased him nine years ago, and he leaves to mourn his loss two daughters, Mrs. William Bissett and Mrs. Charles Russell, both of Brantford, and five grandchildren.  The funeral will be conducted Wednesday from the Reid and Brown Funeral Chapel to Mount Hope Cemetery.

William Robert Dimond

The funeral of William Dimond was conducted yesterday afternoon from Reid and Brown’s Funeral Chapel to Mount Hope Cemetery, where interment was made in the Soldier’s Plot.  The services were in charge of Major W. Currie of the Salvation Army, and “Last Post” was sounded at the graveside by Bugler W. Porter.  There were many flowers and a large attendance, testifying to the esteem in which the deceased was held.  The pallbearers were: G. Barnett, W. Dowden, A. Noakes, W. Leach, W. Russell, and T. Sutherland.
