BX October 3, 1961

Richard Victor “Vic” Hills, of 118 Henry Street, died suddenly Monday at his home.  A son of the late Jud and Sarah Hills, he was born at Surrey, England, and came to Canada and Brantford 50 years ago.  Mr. Hills was a veteran of the First World War, in which he served with the 125th Signal Corps.  He was a member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church and had been employed as a stationary engineer at the E. and A. Gunther Company Limited for 10 years prior to his retirement in 1959.  Surviving besides his wife, the former Sadie Marsh, are one daughter, Mrs. Andrew (Evelyn) Pickett; a granddaughter, Jane; one brother, Edward, in England.  Mr. Hills is at the McCleister Funeral Home.  Service will be held in St. Luke’s Church Thursday, at 2 p.m. Rev. C.V. Tomkins will officiate.  Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
