Stephen Smith

Stephen Smith, 78, died Sunday at his residence, 18 Robertson Avenue.  He was born in Eastbourne, England, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Smith and had resided in Brantford since coming to Canada 55 years ago.  For over 40 years he was with Massey-Ferguson Limited, retiring in 1951, and was a member of the Quarter Century Club there.  Mr. Smith served in the First World War with the 54th Battery and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Surviving is his wife, the former Theresa Nutterville.  Mr. Smith is at the McCleister Funeral Home for service Tuesday at 3.30 p.m. Interment will be in the Soldiers’ Plot, Mount Hope Cemetery.  Rev. Dr. G. Deane Johnston of Central Presbyterian Church will officiate.
