Slightly Wounded
Mrs. Emma Jackson, 37 Duke St., today received word that her son, Pte. Royal Jackson, had been slightly wounded on August 8, but that he had returned to duty. Pte. Jackson left here with the 125th Battalion as a sergeant and was later transferred to the 54th Battalion with which he has been serving in France for some time.

Mrs. Emma Jackson, Duke Street, has been informed through the Red Cross, London, that her son Sergeant Royal Jackson, previously reported wounded Aug. 8. Has been missing since that date. It is believed that he was wounded and taken prisoner. Further enquiry is being made by the Red Cross.

A cable from England, received yesterday by Mrs. Emma Jackson, 37 Duke Street, brought back hope and comfort even only in a small degree, which told that her son, Sergeant Royal Jackson who was previously reported wounded and missing is now officially reported a prisoner of war. Sergeant Royal Jackson enlisted in Brantford and when he was wounded in France he was a member of the 54th Battalion.

Mrs. Emma Jackson, 37 Duke Street, has received advice from Ottawa that a message has been received from London that her son, Sergeant Royal Jackson, is officially reported a prisoner of war in Germany at Dulmen. He was first reported missing, then unofficially a prisoner of war, and now officially reported a prisoner.
