Word has been received by his parents that Pte. Roy Duncan Lamb, of 290 Park Avenue, had been wounded in the leg with shrapnel on November 5. He worked at Scarfe’s Varnish works prior to enlisting.

LAMB, Roy Duncan – At the John Noble Home on Tuesday, January 22, 1985, Roy Duncan Lamb, in his 89th year; beloved husband of the late Eva Sisson; dear father of William, Roy, LaVerne (Verne), both of Brantford; Marian Lamb, Mount Pleasant; Mrs. Jack (Ruth) Shrum, Brantford and Mrs. Charles (Gwen) Guest, Mount Pleasant; dear brother of Mrs. Edith Knechtel; Vancouver, British Columbia; loving grandfather to 13 grandchildren; a special uncle to Hazel Varey, Brantford; predeceased by a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Fairchild; two brothers Gordon and Garnet Lamb and two sisters, Essie Fitness and Mable Lamb.  Mr. Lamb served overseas during the First World War, was a member of Branch 90, Royal Canadian Legion and was a retired employee of Massey-Ferguson Verity Works.  Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Funeral Home, 88 Brant Avenue, on Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Service in the chapel on Friday at 11 a.m., with Rev. William Gallagher officiating.  Interment Farringdon Burial Ground.  Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
