Robert William McMeans

Robert McMeans, husband of Virginia Williams, 107 West Street, died Wednesday in the Brantford General Hospital.  Born in Brantford, Mr. McMeans had been employed with the Kennedy Coal Company for many years.  He was a member of Zion United Church and during the First World War he served overseas.  He was the eldest son of William and Martha McMeans.  Surviving besides his widow are one son, John, and one daughter, Ruth, both at home; one sister, Mrs. William (May) Smith, Brantford.  Mr. McMeans is resting at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home, where the service will be conducted Saturday afternoon.  Interment will be in the Soldiers’ Plot, Mount Hope Cemetery.

The funeral service for Robert McMeans was conducted Saturday afternoon at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home, with Dr. H.W. Vaughan, of Zion United Church officiating.  Many relatives and friends attended the service and the profusion of flowers evinced the esteem in which the deceased was held. The pallbearer’s were J. Lune, J. Turner, W. Thompson, A. Mattice, L. Sutton and J. Turner Jr., E.R. Edwards was in charge of the Legionnaires.  Interment was in the Soldiers’ Plot, Mount Hope cemetery.
