Seriously Ill
A cable message came yesterday announcing that Pte. Consuelo Laborde, who is at Bramshott camp, was seriously ill. The cable came through headquarters but one direct from Pte. Philip Trafford Laborde to his wife at her home, 122 West Street, stated that he was improving. Mrs. Laborde’s friends will rejoice with her that her husband is no worse.

There passed away at his home, 47 Terrace Hill Street, on Wednesday, Philip Trafford Laborde in his 48th year. Mr. Laborde was well known in military circles, as he went overseas in the paymaster’s department of the 125th Battalion. He had been in the Burlington and Hamilton hospitals for the past year and had only been at his home for a little over a week. Mr. Laborde was born in the West Indies but he had lived in Brantford the past 20 years. He was a member of the Church of England. Sincere sympathy will be extended to Mrs. Laborde in her sad bereavement by her many friends, especially those who were associated with her in patriotic work, in which Mrs. Laborde was especially active all through the war. Besides his sorrowing wife, Mr. Laborde is survived by three daughters, all at home, Lucy, Margaret and Connie. The funeral has been arranged for Friday.
