Philip G. Knight

Philip George Knight, 131 Market Street, died today at the Brantford General Hospital.  He was born in Woolwich, England, 60 years ago and lived in Brantford for 40 years.  He served in the Frist World war with the 54th Battery. He was a member of the Canadian Legion, Branch 90 and Grace Anglican Church.  Surviving besides his widow, the former Eva Mae Ridley, are one son, Wayne Knight at home; six daughters, Mrs. William (Phyllis) Davidson, Hamilton; Mrs. William (Eva) Gambacourt, Mrs. Cecil (Patricia) Norman, Mrs. Peter (Dorothy) White, and Mrs. William (Jacqueline) Smuck, all of Brantford and Miss Carol Ann Knight at home, five grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. L. Christie, Brantford.  Mr. Knight is resting at the Beckett Funeral Home until Thursday for service at Grace Church at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

The funeral of Philip George Raynor Knight was conducted Thursday afternoon at Grace Anglican Church with Ven. Archdeacon H.F. Appleyard officiating.  He was assisted by Rev. J.T. McKibbon. Relatives and friends and representatives of Canadian National Railway and the Canadian Legion, Branch 90 attended.  There was a large display of floral tributes.  Pallbearers were J. Milhausen, B. Mitchell, E. Baker, W. Smuck, L. Patterson and H. Wolfenberg.  Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
