BX November 1, 1916

Reported Wounded

Mr. Lorenzo Goold, Winnett Street, at noon today received a telegram stating that his son, Private Percy Goold, had been wounded. The message stated that his injuries consisted of a gunshot wound in the head. Pte. Goold enlisted and went overseas with the old 84th Battalion. When the battalion broke up he was transferred to another unit with which he went over to France. Previous to enlistment he followed the occupation of a farmer.

BX January 15, 1917

Another local casualty reported over the weekend was that of Private Percy Goold. He went overseas in C. Company of the 84th Battalion and was transferred on reaching England. He is now in a hospital suffering from gunshot wounds in the head. His father resides on Tutela Heights. Before enlisting he was working on a farm and is a single man.

GOOLD, Percy Milbourne – At the Brantford General Hospital, Monday October 23, 1972, in his 77th year, Percy Milbourne Goold of 23 Lynnwood Drive (member of Wellington Memorial United Church, Brant Lodge A.F. and A.M. No. 45 and veteran of World War I), beloved husband of the late Edna Louise Goold; dear brother of Mrs. Reta Hanson; also survived by several nieces.  Resting at the McCleister Funeral Home Ltd., 30 Brant Avenue, from Wednesday afternoon.  Service in the chapel Thursday at 11 a.m.  Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Rev. Craig Bailton of Wellington Memorial United Church officiating.
