BX October 29, 1918

Mrs. H. Smith, 302 Colborne Street, has received another telegram, stating that her son, Private Norman Smith is still seriously ill in No. 4 General Hospital, Dannes Camiers. This is the second son to be wounded in action.

Norman R. Smith

Word was received in the City Saturday of the sudden death by accident of Norman R. Smith in Culver City, Los Angeles, California, in his forty-fourth year.  Mr. Smith was well known in Brantford, having resided in West Brantford before going to California eighteen years ago.  He was a Great War veteran. Besides his sorrowing widow, the former Marion Collins, Brantford, he leaves to mourn his loss one son, Billie; his father, Henry Smith, 46 River Road, Brantford; two brothers, Roy, Toronto, and Charles, Brantford and four sisters, Mrs. Robert Liton, Hamilton; Mrs. William Day, Mount Vernon, Mrs. Ray O’Brien and Mrs. Fred Pigott, Brantford.  The funeral was conducted today in Culver City.
