Neil MacKinnon Called by Death
Neil MacKinnon, 13 Princess Street, well known and respected citizen, died Sunday at the Brantford General Hospital. Mr. MacKinnon was in his 59th year.
Born in Brantford, he lived here all his life. A machinist by trade, her served his apprenticeship with the Waterous Engine Works, and worked at the former Ker and Goodwin plant for 19 years, retiring three years ago.
He served overseas in the First World War, leaving Brantford with the 84th Battalion, and being transferred overseas to the 42nd Black Watch Highlanders. He was a member of the Black Watch Association and the holder of the Military Medal.
Surviving, besides his widow, are one son, Donald, at home; two daughters, the Misses Norma and Joanne, at home; one brother, William MacKinnon, Brantford; two sisters, Mrs. Tom (Kathleen) Hayes, Toronto and Mrs. Joel (Jessie) Mann, McKeesport, P.A.
Mr. MacKinnon is resting at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home until Tuesday, when the service will be held in the chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Soldiers’ Plot, Mount Hope Cemetery.

The funeral service for Neil MacKinnon was conducted Tuesday at Hill and Robinson chapel, Rev. Cyril Squires officiating. The many relatives and friends in attendance and the profusion of floral tributes marked the esteem in which Mr. MacKinnon was held. Among those present were representatives of the Black Watch Association, of which Mr. MacKinnon was a member, and the Goodwin Chuck Company, where he was formerly employed. The pallbearers were R. Stewart and G. Webster of the Black Watch Association, R. Goodwin, F. Elsen, T. Abrams and G. Knight, all from the Goodwin Chuck Company. Interment was in the Soldiers’ Plot, Mount Hope Cemetery.
