Pte. Hayward Injured

Word has been received in the city that Private Lloyd S. Hayward, who left on the first contingent, and is now at Salisbury Plain, met with an accident at the training camp and was likely to be sent home to recuperate. Pte. Hayward is a son of Fred Hayward, who up to a short time ago resided at 94 Queen Street, but who has since taken up residence in Woodstock and is employed at the Bain Wagon Works.

Invalided Home

Lloyd Hayward, formerly employed at the Colonial Theatre, but who went away with the Dufferin Rifles contingent, and was part of the first Canadian contingent, has been invalided home. He was injured rather seriously, and had his foot smashed as well as being operated on for appendicitis. He was therefore invalided home without having a chance to be in action.
