Lieutenant Laurence Herbert McLellan Killed in Action – Enlisted as Sergeant with 125th and was Promoted in England

Mrs. W.T. Pearce has received word that her nephew, Lieutenant Laurence Herbert McLellan, had been killed in action on May 26. Lieut. McLellan enlisted as a sergeant here with the 125th Battalion, and after the battalion arrived in England, was one of two picked out to take a commission. After taking a course at Oxford, he received his lieutenancy, and was later sent over to France to join the 19th Battalion with which he was serving when he was killed. Lieut. McLellan was brought up by Mrs. Pearce, and was, before enlisting, employed at the Bell Telephone Company here. He was popularly known and greatly liked in this city.
