That his son, Lieutenant John Howard Knill was reported missing on Oct. 1 was the official notification received yesterday by Mr. John Knill. When the war broke out Lieut. Knill was employed in the Bank of Commerce at Dundas, and on the 8th of August, 1914, he joined up with the 77th Battalion as a private. He went to Valcartier with the 1st Battalion and has been with that unit ever since. In England he took a course and received his commission, and then was appointed to the machine gun section. He has been in France for the past three years, and has twice before appeared in the casualty list, being wounded by shrapnel once and also gassed.
