John J. Hutton

John James Hutton, formerly of Brantford, died Monday at Staten Island, N.Y. in his 62nd year.  He was born in Brantford the son of the late John Hutton and Christina McKinnon and was a resident of New York for 25 years.  Mr. Hutton served overseas during the First World War and since then was with the United States merchant marine.  Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Joseph (Catherine) Sheppard, and two brothers, William and James Hutton, all of Brantford.  Mr. Hutton is resting at Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home.  Requiem mass will be sung Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption.  Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Requiem mass for John James Hutton was conducted Wednesday morning at the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, with the Rt. Rev. Monsignor P.J. Maloney officiating.  Pallbearers were William Clawsey, Hugh McKernan, Edward (Bud) Sheppard, Vernon Cook, Joseph Sheppard and Roy Buckborough.  Interment was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, on Tuesday afternoon, members of the Altar Society of Our Lady of Assumption Church recited the Rosary; in the evening, Monsignor Maloney led the Holy Name Society in the Rosary.
