BX October 2, 1918

Mr. Clifford Higgin, 34 Palace Street, received word this morning that his son, Signaller John Shelly Haydn Higgin, was suffering from a gunshot wound in the neck, received on September 28. The news of this casualty will cause city-wide regret, as Signaller Higgin was universally known and was a special favorite. He was just 18 years old when he enlisted with the 125th in 1915, and at that time he was a druggist. At present he is in the Nottinghamshire Custom War Hospital.
