Word was received in the city today that Private John Alexander Eagleson was admitted to 14 General Hospital, Wimereaux, with gunshot wounds. He left Brantford with the 215th Battalion, France.

John A. Eagleson

The death occurred at the Brantford General Hospital last evening of John A. Eagleson, late of he 54th Battalion, C.E.F.  Deceased was a well known moulder and resided at 230 Darling Street.  He leaves to mourn his loss two brothers and four sisters, William and Sam, Mrs. S. Sayles and Mrs. R. Ward of this city, Mrs. H.J. Squirrell of Hamilton and Mrs. J.A. Mott, of Brockville.  The funeral will take place on Sunday at 2.30 o’clock from the home of his sister, Mrs. Ward, 230 Darling Street.

John A. Eagleson

The funeral of the late John Eagleson took place on Sunday at 2.30 from his late residence, 230 Darling Street, to Mount Hope Cemetery.  Rev. A.H. Fromow conducted the services at the house and grave.  The deceased was a well known moulder and the remains were carried to their last resting place by six members of the IM.U., Bruce Swartz, B. Mathers, J. Spencer, H. Rouse, R. Leach and Ed. Dunn.  He belonged to the 54th Battalion, C.E.F. and saw nearly two years active service in France.  The floral tributes included wreath from the I.M.U., moulders and shop mates of Verity Plow company and comrades of the 215th Battalion, C.E.F.
