PORTER – At the West Haldimand General Hospital, Hagersville on Thursday, April 5, 1979, Jesse Porter of Ohsweken, in his 84th year. Mr. Porter was a veteran of the First World War with overseas duty; beloved husband of Lillie Johnson; loving father of Roy (Della), Mrs. Carson (Betty) Martin, Mrs. Fred (Blanche) Hill, Mrs. Frank (Marjorie) Hill, Maynard, James, Arthur and Mrs. Paul (Elda) Hill, all of Ohsweken, predeceased by one daughter, Eleanor, and one son, Paul; brother of Hardy, Titus (Doc) and James, all of Ohsweken; also survived by 43 grandchildren. Resting at the Styres Funeral Home, Ohsweken. Funeral service Sunday, 2 p.m. at the Six Nations Pentecostal Tabernacle, Ohsweken. (Casket will remain open from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday at the church). Interment in adjoining Cemetery. Evening prayers Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Pastor D. Butler officiating.
