BX October 11, 1918

Another young wife has given her all in the world struggle. Mrs. James Gordon Hone received the sad message today that her husband, Pte. Hone had made the proud and supreme sacrifice on September 27. He was one of the 125th boys who were transferred to the 54th and who went with many other Brantford soldiers to France last March. Private Hone was a farmer in Brantford Township when he gave himself to his country, and his young wife, who was Miss Elsie Watson of the township, is left with their little daughter to cherish his memory. The parents of Private Hone are Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hone, 15 Huron Street. One other brother and five sisters are at home to help their parents bear this costly sacrifice on the altar of freedom.
