BX November 7, 1917

Private Henry Malloy of the infantry is today reported ill. Before enlisting Pte. Malloy, who was only 18 years of age, was working as a printer. He lived at 47 Arthur Street, and went overseas with the first overseas battalion from the 38th Dufferin Rifles.

Harry Malloy

Harry Malloy, 216 Park Avenue, died Sunday in the Brantford General Hospital.  He was 55 years old.  Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Mr. Malloy came to Brantford 42 years ago, and had been an employee of the Massey-Harris Company Limited, Verity Works, for 25 years.  Because of failing health, he retired seven years ago.  He was a member of the Massey-Harris Quarter Century Club.  He served in France with the Fourth Battalion during the First World War.  Mr. Malloy was a member of Bethel Hall.  Surviving besides his widow, the former Winnie Dennis, are three sons, Clarence, Brantford, Robert and Kenneth at home; two brothers, John Malloy, Oshawa and William Malloy, Glasgow, Scotland; four sisters, Mrs. James (Annie) Halliday, Mrs. W.T. (Sadie) Clarke, Mrs. Harry (Betty) Chivers, and Miss Nellie Malloy, all of Brantford, and one grandson.  Mr. Malloy is resting at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
