Harris Reginald (Shot) McCann

Harris Reginald (Shot) McCann died in the Brantford General Hospital Sunday in his 61st year.  Mr. McCann was born in Brantford, the son of the late Theodore and Ida McCann, and had lived here all his life.  He was a mechanic by trade and prior to his retirement a year ago, he had worked for Johnson Brothers Construction Company for about 18 years.  He was a member of Branch 90 Canadian Legion, and First Baptist Church.  Surviving besides his widow, the former Ada Dinsmore, are two sons, Jack and Douglas, both of Brantford; five daughters, Mrs. Eric (Bernice) Barnett of Brantford, Mrs. Clifford (Frances) Wright of Eastwood, Mrs. Malcolm (Marjory) Bishop of Brantford, Mrs. Robert (Donna) McGillivray of Forest and Sharon at home; one brother, Norman of Brantford; one sister, Mrs. Graham (Eva) Barton of Toronto.  Mr. McCann is resting at the McCleister Funeral Home for service on Tuesday at 3 p.m.  Interment will be in the family plot, Mount Hope Cemetery.

The funeral of Harris Reginald (Shot) McCann was conducted Tuesday afternoon at the McCleister Funeral Home with Rev. D.A. Loveday of Central Baptist Church officiating.  There was a large attendance of relatives and friends.  Many floral tributes were placed in Mr. McCann’s memory.  Pallbearers were Albert Hurley, Harold Demille, Cecil Sowers, Robert Grinton, Lorne Sawyer and Edward Dutton.  Members of Branch 90, Canadian Legion, and the Ladies Auxiliary formed a guard of honor at the funeral home and at the graveside at Mount Hope Cemetery. The legion party under the direction of J. Turner, included W. Wait, W. Bowden, Reg Kerr, Jack Persall, Mrs. F. Milligan, Mrs. T. Street, Mrs. J. Harris, Mrs. H. Pitman and Miss Kay Bowden.
