Killed in Action

Private Gilbert Ratcliffe, 1st Canadian Labour Battalion, was killed in action on Oct. 14. He enlisted with the 220th York Rangers, Toronto, but was transferred to the Labor Battalion later. He was a member of Salisbury Lodge, S.O.E., and of the Salvation Army band of this city. A widow and five small children, in Toronto, are left to mourn his loss. He is a brother of Walter Ratcliffe, Nelson Street, and resided here for about 12 years.
