First Casualty from the 125th – Pte. F.C. Hunt, One of First Draft, Wounded in the Hand

Information in regard to the first casualty to occur in the ranks of Brant County’s Own Battalion, the 125th, was received in the city this morning by letter from the wounded man himself, Private Frederick Charles Hunt. In the letter received by his wife, Mrs. F.C. Hunt, 95 Chestnut Avenue, he stated that his injury consisted of a slight gunshot wound in the hand. Although he had been placed on the casualty list he expected to be back with his comrades in a short time. Pte. Hunt was one of the draft of 300 that went to France recently. There he was transferred to the 1st Battalion. He was an electrician by trade and previous to enlistment was employed at Ker and Goodwin’s.
