Frederick J. Downes

Frederick John Downes, a former resident of Brantford, passed away on Christmas Day in the General Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan, after five days’ illness with pneumonia, Mr. Downes was born in London, England and came to Canada in 1909.  He lived in Brantford at 30 Lewis Street, and in 1924 moved to Pontiac.  He was a war veteran, enlisting in the 125th Battalion. Mr. Downes was fifty-seven years of age.  He was a painter by trade.  Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Florence G. Downes, two sons, Frederick C. Downes and Stanley E. Downes, and two daughters, Mrs. Robert Allison and Miss Florence C. Downes, all in Pontiac.  The funeral was conducted Wednesday afternoon with Rev. B. G. Burt in charge of the services in All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Perry Mount Park Cemetery, Pontiac.
