Frank Joseph

The funeral of Frank Joseph, whose death occurred at the Hamilton Sanatorium last Thursday, took place yesterday from the home of his uncle, John Jamieson, on the Six Nations reserve, with interment in St. John’s Cemetery.  Mr. Joseph, who was very well-known on the reserve, was a veteran of the war, going overseas with the 114th Battalion from Haldimand County.  He is survived by his widow and twin daughters, Cecillia and Cellicia, residents on the reserve.  Rev. J.S. Rough officiated at the services yesterday, assisted by Rev. W.J. Eccleston, and full military honors were accorded, a firing squad bring provided by the Caledonia branch, Canadian Legion, under the command of Major Johnson.  “Last Post” was sounded by Bugler Jesse Porter as the flag draped casket was lowered into the grave. The pallbearers, all former comrades of the deceased in “C” Company of the Haldimand Regiment were: Justus Isaac, Amos Obediah, Thomas Patterson, Anderson Joseph, Wilfred White and George White.
