Edwin J. Harrington

The death of Edwin John Harrington, 107 Gilkison Street, occurred Wednesday evening in his 73rd year.  He was born in Farnham, England, and came to Brantford 40 years ago.  Mr. Harrington was a veteran of the First World War, enlisting with the 125th Battalion and serving overseas.  He was a bricklayer by trade and was well known throughout the city.  Surviving besides his widow, the former Edith Lucy Wiles, are one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Dorothy) Wilson, city; five sons, Ernest, William, Albert and Frank all of the city, and Arthur, Kitchener; one sister, Mrs. Charles (Esther) Groff, city; three brothers, Albert, Ernest, and Christopher, Brantford, and 11 grandchildren.  Mr. Harrington is resting at the Beckett Funeral Home where the service will be conducted Saturday afternoon.  Interment will be in Farringdon Burial Ground.

The funeral service for Edward J. Harrington was conducted Saturday afternoon at the Beckett funeral Home.  Rev. G. Deane Johnston, of Central Presbyterian Church, officiated.  Many relatives and friends attended the service and the profusion of floral tributes evinced the esteem in which the deceased was held.  The pallbearers were George Godfrey, Arnold Black, Samuel Mellor, Robert Plant, Fred Nicholas and George Harrington. Interment was in Farringdon Burial Ground.
