Had Nephew on Monmouth – Brantford Woman Receives Word that Relative Went Down with British Warship

Mrs. A. Williams, of 23 Glanville Avenue, city, has just received the sad intelligence that her nephew, Gunner Edward Rowe, lost his life on the ill fated Monmouth. He was on the H.M.S. Hogue, as acting gunner, when that ship was sunk. He was one of the survivors and was transferred to the Monmouth, where he acted as cook. The deceased was about 25 years old and had had about nine year’s naval service.
