Invalided Out, On Way Home

The hardships of the life of a soldier proved more than the constitution of Private Edward Pickles of this city could stand, and he is being returned home suffering from tubercular trouble which has necessitated his confinement to the hospital since last May. Pte. Pickles, who lived at 153 Chatham Street, was attending the Collegiate Institute here when the war broke out, and enlisted with the 37th Battalion at Simcoe. Word has been received that he was returning and he is expected home soon.
