Edward Griffiths

The death occurred this morning of Edward Griffiths, 175 Mohawk Street, a veteran of the 215th Battalion, in his 61st year.  The funeral will be conducted on Tuesday next from the late residence, with interment in the Soldiers’ Plot at Mount Hope Cemetery.  The deceased leaves to mourn his loss his sorrowing widow, one son, Edward William, and one sister, Miss Elizabeth Griffiths, in Brantford, and one brother, James and one sister, Mrs. Ward, in Birmingham, England.

Funeral services were held yesterday at the residence, 175 Mohawk Street, for Edward Griffiths, the services being in charge of Rev. F.W. Schaffter, Rector of St. Jude’s Anglican Church.  Interment was made in the Soldiers’ Plot at Mount Hope Cemetery.  The deceased was a member of the Canadian Legion and was well known, a large attendance and many beautiful floral tributes testifying to the esteem in which he was held.  “Last Post” was sounded by Bugler Bert Porter.  The pallbearers were: W. Fern, C. Clark and O.C. Perrott, members of the local branch of the Canadian Legion, and P. Rowley, J. Rose and F. Derbyshire.
