Paris News Notes – Pretty Military Wedding was Solemnized

PARIS, May 8. – A very pretty military wedding took place in Saint James’ church on Saturday afternoon, when Miss Lily Ethel Weston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Weston, Peterborough, England, was united in marriage to Sergeant Charles Smith of C. Company, 125th Battalion, and son of Company Sergeant-Major Smith of the same battalion.  The bride looked very pretty in a gown of white duchess satin, trimmed with rosebuds and chiffon, with veil and orange blossoms, and carried white carnations and roses.  Mrs. Percy Brydges acted as matron of honor and looked becoming in a dress of Alice blue silk, with hat to match.  Little Miss Lillian Brydges made a pretty flower girl, dressed in pink silk, and carried pink carnations.  The groom was supported by Corporal Percy Brydges.  Rev. Seton Adamson, rector of the church, tied the nuptial knot, while Miss Clara Stewart played the wedding march.  After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of Mr. Alfred Russell, Catharine Street, the happy couple leaving later on a wedding trip to Stratford, the bride traveling in a sand colored velvet suit and old rose hat.  In their return they will reside in Paris.
