A Brantford Man Heads New Football Organization – Charles Patullo, of This City, Will Preside Over First Year Activities of Canadian Football League – Organized on Lines of English Football Association
The new Canadian Football Association held its first general meeting on Saturday at the East End Y.M.C.A., Hamilton. Nearly 70 members were present, 11 of which represented clubs and associations. Owing to sickness, W. Fenton (Toronto) the president pro tem, was absent and Charles Patullo of Brantford took the chair. The first item of business after the adoption of minutes was the passing of by-law 10 of the Football Association’s rules, giving the power to elect the officers for the year by ballot.
Charles Patullo, of Brantford, and Robert May, of Hamilton were nominated for president, the former being elected by 9 votes to 2.
Vice presidents elected were Robert May (Hamilton) and W. Hilton (Toronto).
A very close run was taken for secretary, W. Beeston, 680 Yonge St. Toronto, receiving six votes and S. Farrant, of Hamilton 5.
The treasurer elected by acclamation was W. Taylor, Hamilton.
By reason of the ruling of the C.F.A. this officer will be heavily bonded.
Ask for Charter
The elected officers will go to work at once and place all particulars, correspondence, etc. that took place between the D.F.A. and the C.F.A. before the international Board and request them to issue to the C.F.A. a charter.
The meeting which lasted four hours was certainly a great success and augurs well for the C.F.A.

Charles Patullo Jr.
The death of Charles Patullo Jr., husband of Marion Bryson, of 30 Wells Avenue occurred at the Brantford General Hospital on Sunday in his 59th year. Mr. Patullo was born in Dundee, Scotland, and had been a resident of Brantford for the past 37 years. Since its organization in Brantford, Mr. Patullo had been secretary of Clan Campbell, Order of Scottish Clans, and was a member of the Telephone City Branch of the Canadian Legion. For the past 30 years, he has been employed at the local plant of the Steel Company of Canada. Surviving, besides his widow, are two daughters, Mrs. John (Kathleen) Wilson, Brantford; Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Paine, Guelph, his father Charles Patullo Sr., Toronto; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Biggs, Rochester, N.Y. and Miss Bella Patullo, Port Dover, and one brother, William, Brantford. Mr. Patullo will rest at Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home, from Tuesday noon. The service will be conducted on Wednesday afternoon. Interment will be led in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Wednesday afternoon funeral services for Charles Patullo, husband of Marion Bryson, 30 Wells Avenue, were conducted at Thorpe Brothers’ Funeral Home. Rev. L.B. Jenkins, rector of St. James’ Anglican Church, officiated. Many friends, representatives of the Brantford Plant of Steel Company of Canada, and members of the Canadian Legion were present. Floral tributes in profusion were an expression of the esteem in which Mr. Patullo was held. The pallbearers were: Almer Main, William Coutts, Alex Merson, J.D. MacDonald, J.D. McMillan and E. Cox. The flower bearers were: Ernie Flath, M. Adams, Charles Wagar, Earl Linnington, Jack McGinnis and Reginald Robins, members of the Legion bowling team, and A. Preece and J. Hevey, fellow employees at the Steel Company of Canada. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery. Tuesday evening officers and members of Clan Campbell, Order of the Scottish Clans held a service of the clan at the funeral home. Chief J.P. McDonald, Chaplain J. Campbell, Tanist Adam Little, Past Chief J. Hunter and Piper Alex McRae conducted the service. During the service the lament “The Flowers of the Forest” was piped by Piper Alex McRae.
