Charles James Marno

Charles J. Marno, formerly of Wellington Street, died Wednesday in Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, in his 87th year.  Born in Scotland, he came to Canada 54 years ago.  Mr. Marno was a veteran of the First World War, having served overseas with the 125th Battalion.  Prior to coming to Canada he served 12 years with the Scottish Regiment in India.  He was a member of Branch 90, Royal Canadian Legion.  Surviving are: one son, Donald R. of Brantford; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Grace) Godby of Belle River, Ont.; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.  His wife, the former Louise Watts, died in 1951.  Mr. Marno is at Hill and Robinson Funeral Home until Friday for service in the chapel at 3.30 p.m.  Interment will be in the Soldiers’ Plot, Mount Hope Cemetery.
