Charles Lethaby Dropped Dead – Veteran of Great War Collapsed on Erie Avenue Last Night

Charles Lethaby, 46 years of age, who resided at 39 Dundas Street East, dropped dead about 10 o’clock last night on the lawn outside the residence of Dr. M.N. Faris, Erie Avenue. Mr. Lethaby had resided in Brantford for 23 years and was a foreman for Warren Construction Co., he was a member of Reba lodge, A.F. and A.M. During the war he served with the Monkton, N.B., Battalion.

He leaves to mourn his loss his widow and one child, Florence Dolly and four brothers, William, Brantford and Frank, James and Henry, all in England.  The funeral will be conducted Saturday from the residence, with interment in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Charles Lethaby

The funeral of the late Charles Lethaby was conducted Saturday afternoon from his late residence, 39 Dundas Street, with interment in Mount Hope cemetery.  Rev. C. Hallowell, rector of St. James’ church officiated at the home and graveside.  Masonic service was conducted at the graveside by Rt. Worshipful Bro., S.W. Seago, and Wor. Bros. W. Seago, D. Brooks, A. Bowden, H. Cuff and C. Stiles.  The pallbearers were; W. Nicoll, A. Wibley, William Coleman, Philip Eide, William Burrows and E. McDoule.
